Can I get personal health insurance today?

Maybe. If you have recently moved, lost coverage or had a change in family size, you may qualify for a special enrollment.


When can I buy health insurance?

Open enrollment is November 1 through January 15 each year.


What if I don't have a special circumstance?

A short term plan may be an option if you don’t qualify for a special enrollment period.

Will I have to pay a penalty for not having health insurance?

No, the penalty for not having health insurance ended in 2018.


Can I get Medicare before I turn 65?

Most people only qualify for Medicare before they turn 65 if they are permanently disabled. You may qualify immediately or it may be up to 24 months since your disability began.
